Mr K C Padia is a first time entrepreneur who started as a timber merchant in Orissa in early 70”s and later on became the leading importer of timber in the country. He also started manufacture and supply of wooden sleepers to Indian Railways. His strong association with railways continued with diversification to manufacture and supply of Pre-stress Concrete Sleepers to Railways by setting up BEMCO SLEEPERS LTD under the leadership of his younger son Mr Ajay Padia. He earlier had diversified into plastic moulding business by setting up manufacturing plants in West Bengal & Rajasthan under the able leadership of his elder son Mr Vijay Padia and the company Eastern Polycraft Industries Ltd is right now one of the leading manufacturer of Injection & Blow Moulding plastic products in the country.

Mr. Ajay Padia is an alumnus of Kolkata University, started his career with timber business. His interpersonal skills have contributed immensely to the exponential growth of the company. His never say “no” attitude has helped company in achieving milestone successfully. It was this attitude which saw the re-entry of BEMCO GROUP into the sleeper business and rekindle the strong bonds with Indian Railways. Mr Ajay Padia firmly established BEMCO SLEEPERS LTD in the Indian Railways map as a leading supplier of pre stressed concrete sleepers in the CENRAL ZONE. His leadership qualities and people management skills saw the company grow and achieve many milestones ever since the group setup the company. To further strengthen the groups position Mr Ajay Padia under the vison of Mr K C Padia setup two more plants in the SOUTH CENTRAL ZONE and now both the plants are fully operational and supplying various concrete sleepers as per Indian Railways specifications
